I’ve been trying to get rid of gnats and tried several devices. So far, none of them have worked.
This one did not catch a single gnat even though a few had congregated on the top of the device.
This was my experience–yours may very well be better.

I’ve had it activated for a couple of weeks now. Nothing has buzzed its way into it yet. Too bad! Flies and gnats are all over my nasty office.

I am very pleased with the trap. It’s been a month since I first had this out and now there are many fruit flies dead in this red watery grave.

I’ve had this out for about two weeks now, and have found it effective even when we had a second influx of infested fruit. It doesn’t work instantly, of course, this is chemistry not magic, but after twenty-four hours you should see steadily fewer fruit flies. This, always provided that what you have are actually fruit flies and not gnats. Do be aware the fruit flies will congregate around the trap for a while.
I also find the trap itself kind of cute. It’s a little plastic apple, which doesn’t do a thing to “fool” the flies of course, but makes it slightly less jarring to have sitting around the kitchen.

I set this on my kitchen counter this morning, and tonight there are around 75 gnats and/or tiny fruit flies floating in the liquid inside this thing, and just a few hanging around my fruit. Makes it seem like I live in a filthy home, but actually it’s very clean and sanitary. We just live at the beach, and leave our windows open, and do leave a basket of fruit on our counter.
I’ll also give this product kudos for looking pleasant enough sitting on the counter, yet giving you a clear window that you can look into to check how many flies you’ve caught. And it’s non-toxic (basically scented soap inside.)
The only downside is that you can’t really empty and re-use the thing, and at this rate I’ll be going through quite a few. After all, how long do you want to leave a swamp of dead floating fruit flies on your counter? So it can get expensive.
Highly recommended!
